Preheat the oven to
400°F. Line a large baking sheet with
parchment paper.
On a lightly floured
surface, unroll one tube of thin crust pizza dough and roll into a large
football shaped oval (trim dough if needed) and transfer carefully to your
prepared baking sheet. Roll and trim the second tube of pizza dough into a
matching large football shape and carefully transfer to a piece of parchment
and set aside.
Spread Heluva Good! French
Onion Dip over the first rolled dough oval. Sprinkle chopped bacon, parmesan,
cheddar, and scallions evenly.
Place the second rolled pizza dough on top
and stretch until it covers the first piece completely.
Using a knife, cut vertical strips about 1
inch thick stopping halfway up and down, leaving a 1-2 inch lengthwise strip in
the center intact.
Carefully pull each strip and twist once or
twice. Whisk together 1 egg and 1
tablespoon of water to make an eggwash.
Brush eggwash over the dough.
Bake in the oven for about
20-25 minutes or until the football is nicely golden brown and the cheese has
melted.
Remove
from the oven.Before serving, place a
couple scoops of Heluva good dip in a resealable plastic bag and cut the corner
off.Pipe laces and stripes on your
football.
